Just last month I attended a photography workshop in Yosemite, hoping to have lots of snow and to get a few amazing “Winter in Yosemite” shots. We missed the big snow storm in the valley, but the weather was stormy and variable, which often makes for very interesting and dynamic images. I got a few images, like above, of the valley with low-lying fog, and still a bit of snow on all of the peaks. Because of the variable weather this trip to Yosemite turned out to be one of my favorites. Also, this time of year there aren’t as many people so early in the morning you almost feel like you have the park to yourself. I never tire of Yosemite. All of those granite walls soaring from the valley floor are so humbling and take my breath away.
